The Art Therapy Project

Art Therapy (n.)-the use of artistic expression to help process and understand emotions; facilitate healing through the creative process

THE ART THERAPY PROJECT (press play to watch)

The Art Therapy Project takes a creative approach to raising awareness around Pediatric Brain Tumors (PBT's).  Austin and Leenadria Ubannwa have combined their creative talents to tell the story of their experiences and the experiences of others impacted by a Pediatric Brain Tumor diagnosis through dance, music, and photos. As a part of this project we have selected young dancers in our community who have expressed an interest in using their talents to advocate for children and families facing a brain tumor diagnosis. Our Dance Ambassadors have committed hours of their time to be a part of this project; a long-term commitment each has taken seriously.

5-PART VIDEO SERIES

The 5-part video series will be released on all of our social media platforms throughout the month of September as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Each video highlights a different part of the experience. Other Side of the Wall intends to use these videos to raise funds for research. We are working with doctors at Children’s Hospital in DC to target promising research and active clinical trials that would have the greatest impact on the Pediatric Brain Tumor community.

Putting our amateur filming skills to use to create these stories. We have found beautiful locations near where we live and have begun filming.
